Joshua Tree Engagement

I recently did my first engagement shoot at Joshua Tree National Park. I feel like I am so behind the game when it comes to photography because it took me so long to shoot here. It is only 2.5 hours from my house too!!! Where have I been?!?! Let’s just say that after my first session up here, I revisited Joshua Tree for many more engagements and shoots in the last few months.

I Like the Drive

A lot of people ask me if all of the driving my job entails is terrible. But when you have two kids and you work from home, you really learn to enjoy your time alone. It’s the only time I get to really be alone with my thoughts. And honestly, it’s the only time I get to listen to my favorite music. Who would have thought that music choice would be the number one fight in my marriage?! Just kidding…

Instant Friends

I had never met Gloria and Noe until this day. We met up for some drinks right before the shoot to get to know each other better and it was just TOO EASY. We got along right away and shared stories about our fun families and life stories. It was a BLAST. I almost forgot that we came up to Joshua Tree for their engagement because we were having so much fun chatting.

Government Shutdown

Noe drove us into Joshua Tree for their engagement pictures in his fancy-ass BMW. I felt like a celebrity. We had the opportunity to be there during the government shut down which was so interesting. The whole place felt empty even though there were plenty of people around. Something about not having the rangers made us feel even more like we were in the middle of no where.

Another Perfect Shoot

We started the shoot with a couple shots of tequila and these two rocked out in their favorite Gun’s and Roses band tees. They showed me their salsa dancing skills and finished the night popping a bottle of champagne at dusk. It was a PERFECT engagement shoot in Joshua Tree.

I cannot thank these two enough for being killer models and for just showing me how in love they really are! I cannot wait for their wedding at the Kellog House! There is so much history behind this venue and I just love it!
