Ramona Wedding
Ramona, California is probably my favorite place to shoot weddings in San Diego. I grew up in a smaller suburb of San Diego and it honestly just feels like home. Everyone knows everyone. We all go to the same school, play in the same sports leagues and what not. They have everything you need to survive without it feeling crowded. Maybe someday, I will move back to a place like Ramona. It’s just so nice to have family so close you know?? I even asked the bride and her family if they loved living in the area and they said they were obsessed! It is just big enough that you don’t feel like you quite no everyone! But not so big that you feel like a stranger in your own hometown. Maybe I’ll start looking for homes here on Zillow.
Dream Venue
When Haley and Jason first reached out I was FLOORED! I had seen photos from weddings at Milagro Winery in Ramona, California. But I had not had the chance to shoot there myself yet. With that said, I knew I had to shoot this wedding. We all clicked right off the bat and my dreams of shooting at Milagro were fulfilled. After this wedding was booked, I ended up shooting at Milagro a total of 4 times this year! What are the odds? It quickly became my favorite San Diego wedding venue and I even get to come back 5 times next year! How crazy is life?!
Surpassing Expectations
I knew this wedding would be gorgeous from the first inquiry. But wowza, it was more gorgeous than I expected. And that wasn’t even the best part!
I left this wedding literally feeling like a part of this family. The groom’s Aunt and I became best friends! I was dancing with all of the guests the whole night. People literally asked if I was a family friend! “I am now!” This was my response! Shooting this wedding just made me more and more excited for next year! If any of you are even CONSIDERING having your wedding at Milagro Winery in Ramona, California, please just know you will not be disappointed! Not just from a beauty stand point. But the professionalism and genuine love from the people that work here is just unbeatable.
I Love my Clients
The funny thing is, I had not met the groom in person until the wedding day. These two live in Colorado (even though they both grew up in San Diego). But FaceTime was enough for us all to be comfortable with each other. Of course, it was so important for them to get married back in San Diego so all of their friends and family could attend. I think having your family and friends at your wedding is the most important thing in the world. How incredible is it to be surrounded by the people who raised you and watched you grow up? It’s also cool that they chose a location that was sentimental for them! It made so much sense for them to have their wedding in Ramona because it is where Haley grew up!
Highlight of the day
One of the highlights of the day was seeing how surprised the bride and groom were to see a vintage car as their getaway car. Their parents surprised them with the most exciting gift! Something you don’t get to do very often! I love moments like that. It is moments like these that make me love weddings and I hope I get to shoot many more in Ramona, California.
